Privacy Statement –
It is the policy of Moorpark Presbyterian Church (MPC) to respect the privacy of our website visitors to www.mppres.org (hereinafter referred to as the “website” or “site”). Through this Privacy Policy, we want to assure visitors to the MPC website that we do not collect any information from visitors to the website. Furthermore we cannot and do not sell, share, or rent user information to others.
Gathering and Sharing of Personal Information -
At no place on the MPC website do we ask for any personal information such as your name, e-mail address, or phone number to permit browsing of the MPC website. If you choose to contact us through the “Contact Us” page we will necessarily have access to your email address and other pertinent data which you chose to send us. We do not collect or assimilate this data, nor do we retain this information indefinitely. At no time do we sell, share, or rent this information for any purposes.
Cookie-Free Browsing –
The MPC website does not use “cookies.” A cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive to track your browsing patterns. Browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer allow you to disable cookies, if you wish, or inform you when a cookie is being stored on your hard drive. Since the MPC website uses no cookies, this should not be an issue.
Third-party web applications –
The MPC site uses the services of four third-party web-based tools and applications to enhance our site and improve its function and utility. These third party tools include:
1. A website traffic meter, by SiteMeter
2. An MPC website search tool, by FreeFind
3. A general MPC event calendar, hosted by MyChurchEventsTM
These applications are discussed in the following paragraphs. In all cases you will find that none of these applications require any person data or information from you.
Website Traffic Meter –
We utilize a website traffic meter from a third party called Site Meter. The site meter is located only on the home page of the MPC website. The site meter is used only for purposes of anonymously tracking website traffic routed, or entering, through the home page. The only generic data that is collected is:
- Operating system (e.g., Macintosh OS, Windows Vista, XP, etc.)
- Operating System language (e.g., English, Spanish, Japanese)
- Browser type (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
- Time zone
- ISP/domain (e.g., aol.com. rr.com. adelphia.net)
- Referring page
- Search words used to find the MPC website (if applicable)
- Duration of visit
- Number of pages viewed
- Organization (e.g. .com, .net., .CA, .BR)
This anonymous technical information is not attributable to any particular visitor. It is reviewed periodically for purposes of maintaining and improving the MPC website. Site Meter does not collect any personal data and cannot identify any specific visitor. MPC Site Search Engine –
The MPC website search tool is a useful and powerful tool created by FreeFind. The search tool allows you to search the MPC website for subject matter on the MPC website including all sermons, the entire New Testament, and much of the Old Testament. MPC Calendar –
The MPC general events calendar is hosted by MyChurchEventsTM. While using the MPC calendar you are simply viewing a page hosted at MyChurchEvents and no personal information is sent to or from MyChurchEvents. You may learn more about their service at www.mychurchevents.com

Our Site contains links to other websites that are neither operated nor controlled by MPC. Please be aware that other websites may collect personally identifiable information about you. Once you link to another site, you are subject to the privacy and security policies of the new site. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of all websites you visit, especially if you share any personal information. Please refer to the privacy policy of those specific websites for their respective privacy policies. Website visitors can determine quite easily if they have exited the MPC. Mass e-mail -
MPC does not conduct any electronic mass mailings. The weekly electronic newsletter is distributed to several hundred recipients each week on an opt-in basis to those whom request to be included. To be included or removed from the weekly newsletters please contact us.
Spoof E-mails -
The Internet has experienced email viruses that “spoof” the sending e-mail address. That means the “From:” line is faked, selected from a list of e-mail addresses culled off the Internet. This can result in an email that appears to be from an MPC email address when, in fact, it is not. MPC’s email provider screens all incoming and outgoing email traffic to ensure that that they are free from viruses. Spoof e-mails that may have been generated by a virus (or may even contain a virus) may possibly be maliciously generated outside the MPC email system, without our knowledge, and are beyond the control of MPC. Please accept our condolences for this mutual inconvenience and rest assured that MPC takes every possible precaution to ensure that our networks, systems, servers, and legitimate email traffic are protected to the highest degree.
